Cardi B’s forthcoming album Am I The Drama?, scheduled for release this autumn, may be subject to last-minute changes due to an ongoing copyright dispute.

Artists Joshua Fraustro (known professionally as Sten Joddi) and Miguel Aguilar (Kemikal956) have filed a lawsuit alleging that Cardi B’s 2024 single Enough (Miami) copied the melody and bassline from their 2021 track Greasy FryBread.

Plaintiffs Seek Injunction

According to Billboard, the claimants have requested a court order to prevent the song from appearing on Am I The Drama?. Their legal representative, Robert Flores, stated that allowing the track’s release would cause «irreparable» damage that would be «almost impossible to calculate». He argued that removing one song from a 23-track album would be less harmful than releasing it and later addressing the alleged infringement.

If granted, the injunction would require the removal of Enough (Miami) from streaming platforms and prohibit its performance, publication, distribution or monetisation until the case is resolved.

Unclear Album Tracklist

It remains uncertain whether the disputed track will appear on the album. The plaintiffs claim the new record promotes Enough (Miami) as a lead single, yet no official tracklist has confirmed its inclusion. Pre-save links on services such as Spotify currently exclude the song.

Cardi B has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the plaintiffs did not hold proper copyright registration for their work. The case’s outcome and timing in relation to the album release remain unclear.

While the legal matter continues, Cardi B released her new single Imaginary Players on Friday, August 15, offering another preview of Am I The Drama? before its scheduled release on September 19.

Kursiv also reports that Lana Del Rey has stirred up speculation about her relationship with fellow singer Ethel Cain by sharing a preview of a new track on Instagram.
