Nestlé has dismissed its chief executive officer, Laurent Freixe, after an internal probe found he had an undisclosed romantic relationship with a subordinate, violating the company’s code of conduct.
The board of directors said the decision was «necessary» to uphold Nestlé’s values. Freixe, who had worked at the company for nearly 40 years, became CEO in September 2024 but held the position for less than a year.
Philipp Navratil, head of Nestlé Nespresso, will step in as the new CEO. Navratil joined the company in 2001 and became part of its executive board earlier this year.
Nestlé, known for brands like Nesquik, DiGiorno and Purina, reported 3% organic sales growth in the last quarter.
