London-based designer Omar Mansur has unveiled his latest collection Lapis Lazuli for the first time in New York, placing Uzbekistan’s iconic ikat fabric at the heart of his vision.

The debut took place during New York Fashion Week this September, where Mansur presented his Spring/Summer 2026 line. Inspired by refinement, cultural heritage and timeless femininity, the collection takes its name from the semi-precious stone revered in Central and South Asia. Shades of deep blue, sand and metallic hues evoked the image of desert skies at dusk.

The designs featured flowing silk gowns, loose-cut suits and sleek contemporary silhouettes. Each piece was enriched with handcrafted details and semi-precious embellishments, but it was the use of Uzbek ikat that stood out, giving the collection a distinctive cultural resonance.

Fashion critics responded warmly, noting that Mansur not only made a striking debut in New York but also amplified international interest in Uzbekistan’s artisanal traditions.

As Uzbekistan continues to promote its architecture, art and textiles on the global stage, Mansur’s collection offered a vivid reminder that national heritage can remain both relevant and inspiring in modern fashion.
