Five-Gram Gold Bar in Uzbekistan Hits Record $683.15

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan reported that as of October 14, the price of a five-gram gold bar has reached a record 8.3 mln soums ($683.15), according to data published on the regulator’s Telegram channel.
Current rates value a 10-gram bar at 16.6 mln soums ($1,366.31), a 20-gram bar at 33.2 mln soums ($2,732.61), a 50-gram bar at 83.1 mln soums ($6,839.76), and a 100-gram bar at over 166.2 mln soums ($13,679.52).
In August, the Central Bank purchased two tonnes of gold, according to the World Gold Council. During the same period, global central banks acquired around 15 tonnes, including eight tonnes bought by Kazakhstan.
As of 11:29 a.m. Tashkent time (GMT+5), the price of a troy ounce of gold stood at $4,100, reflecting a 0.17% increase.
