Uzbek Airlines Respond to Airbus A320 Software Warning

Airbus announced on Friday November 28 that it had identified a software problem affecting some A320 family aircraft caused by solar interference. Kursiv Uzbekistan examined how the issue has affected local airlines.
Uzbekistan Airways said it is updating the software on its entire Airbus A320 and A321 ceo and neo fleet in line with an Airbus directive. The carrier expects all work to be completed by 23:00 Tashkent time on November 29. The airline stressed that all flights are operated only on aircraft that meet current international safety standards.
Centrum Air told Kursiv Uzbekistan that its A320 aircraft are not covered by the directive and may continue to fly without restrictions.
Air Samarkand confirmed that Airbus had informed the company of a potential software fault. However, it noted that its aircraft use a different configuration that is not affected by the bulletin and does not require replacement or modification. The carrier emphasised that the issue reported by Reuters does not apply to all A320 jets.
Air Samarkand added that its operations continue as normal with no need to adjust schedules. The company said it remains in contact with the manufacturer and regulators and follows their instructions promptly.
Kursiv Uzbekistan also reached out to Qanot Sharq for comment but had not received a reply at the time of publication.
