The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been completed, confirming all 12 groups for next summer’s expanded tournament. With 42 nations already qualified and six more still battling for places through European and intercontinental playoffs, teams now have their first sense of the road to the final on July 19.

The group breakdown features several finely balanced matchups across the 48-team format, held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

Group K: Uzbekistan’s opponents confirmed

Uzbekistan has been placed in Group K alongside Portugal and Colombia, as well as the winner of an intercontinental playoff featuring DR Congo, Jamaica and New Caledonia. This combination makes Group K one of the most competitive in the tournament.

Portugal enter as the clear favourites thanks to a powerful squad and consistent performances at major events. Colombia, known for high-intensity football and aggressive pressing, will also pose a serious challenge.

Uzbekistan face a demanding route to the knockout stage yet continue to show steady progress on the international stage. The coaching staff are focusing on a compact defence and swift transitions to keep the side competitive against elite opposition. Match schedules will be published in due course.
