YouTube Generates Over $60 Bn in Revenue in 2025

Google revealed that YouTube brought in more than $60 bn in revenue in 2025, combining advertising earnings and paid subscriptions. The figure exceeds Netflix’s $45 bn revenue and marks the first time Google has publicly broken out YouTube’s annual revenue since acquiring the platform in 2006.
Midia Research analyst Hanna Kahlert said the announcement reflects YouTube’s deep integration into daily digital life, with over 70% of global consumers using it weekly and more than half using it daily. Its diverse revenue streams allow the platform to capitalise on its large audience.
Despite ad revenue in the last quarter of 2025 falling slightly short of Wall Street expectations at $11.38bn (£8.37bn), Google CEO Sundar Pichai described the year as «fantastic» and highlighted YouTube Premium as a key driver of paid subscriptions across Google’s consumer services, which surpassed 325 mln in 2025.
Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, said YouTube is seeing strong subscription growth and has introduced new, lower-cost YouTube TV and Premium tiers. Additional features, such as background play reserved for Premium users, aim to attract more subscribers.
Meanwhile, Shorts, YouTube’s TikTok-style short video platform, averaged over 200 bn daily views, further boosting engagement.
