Iranian Navy Reportedly Hit in Operation Epic Fury Strikes

Iran’s naval forces appear to have suffered damage during the U.S.-Israeli operation known as Operation Epic Fury, with satellite imagery and early reports indicating strikes on key naval facilities.
Images from late February showed smoke and debris at the Konarak naval basin near Chah Bahar, where a frigate was believed to be docked. Analysts said the vessel appeared heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the dockside. Nearby airbase infrastructure linked to anti-ship drones may also have been hit.
The strikes come amid broader attacks targeting Iranian military infrastructure following coordinated US-Israeli operations launched on February 28. U.S. President Donald Trump said the operation would «annihilate» Iran’s navy, though it remains unclear whether the primary focus was the regular Iranian navy or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval units.
At Iran’s main naval hub in Bandar Abbas, multiple frigates and submarines were reportedly present in port before the strikes, with some vessels possibly targeted. The status of several ships remains uncertain, and full damage assessments have not been confirmed.
Reports also suggested potential strikes on strategic maritime infrastructure, including oil export terminals, raising concerns about disruption to regional shipping routes.
Shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz appeared to decline sharply following the attacks, reflecting heightened security risks in one of the world’s most critical energy corridors.
While details remain limited, the reported strikes signal a widening scope of the conflict, extending from land targets to naval assets and maritime infrastructure across the region.
