Navruz Celebrations Highlight Unity and Reform Agenda in New Uzbekistan

A festive ceremony marking the national holiday of Navruz was held at Yangi Uzbekistan Park, with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressing the nation and outlining priorities for development and social progress.

The president отметил that this year Navruz coincides with Ramadan Hayit, describing the period as a symbol of renewal, unity and prosperity. He extended congratulations to citizens at home and abroad, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity regardless of nationality, language or religion.

Mirziyoyev said the celebration reflects a broader commitment to improving living standards and expanding opportunities across the country. Ongoing reforms include job creation, poverty reduction and investments in infrastructure, housing, education, healthcare and cultural facilities.

He also highlighted the role of farmers in ensuring food security and pledged continued state support for the agricultural sector.

Particular attention was given to the younger generation, with the president describing youth as the driving force behind Uzbekistan’s «Third Renaissance.» He called on young people to pursue education, self-development and innovation, assuring that conditions for their growth would be further strengthened.

The president underscored the importance of the mahalla system in maintaining social cohesion and addressing local issues, noting that 2026 has been declared the Year of Mahalla Development and Social Prosperity.

Mirziyoyev also stressed the value of interethnic harmony in Uzbekistan, where more than 130 nationalities live side by side, and reaffirmed efforts to strengthen regional cooperation in Central Asia.
