Uzbekistan Boosts Oil Trade in Early 2026
Uzbekistan significantly increased both exports and imports of oil and petroleum products in the first two months of 2026, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
Exports of oil and petroleum products reached $81.8 mln in January–February, marking a 22.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when exports stood at $66.8 mln.
At the same time, imports rose more sharply. Uzbekistan imported $404.5 mln worth of oil and petroleum products, up 39% year-on-year from $291.1 mln.
Notably, gasoline imports surged more than fourfold to $341.1 mln, compared to $78.8 mln a year earlier.
Overall, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover totaled $11.6 bn during the reporting period. The country maintains trade relations with more than 160 countries, reflecting ongoing efforts to diversify its economic partnerships.
China accounted for the largest share of trade at 27.5%, followed by Russia (18.3%), Kazakhstan (7.2%), Türkiye (3.6%), and South Korea (2.7%).
