Dozens of flights disrupted at Ben Gurion Airport amid ongoing regional instability

Passengers at Ben Gurion International Airport faced significant disruption after dozens of flights were delayed or cancelled, highlighting ongoing instability in global air travel.

According to reports, at least 38 flights were delayed and four cancelled, affecting routes to major destinations including China, Russia, the United States and key European hubs such as London and Paris.

Airlines impacted include El Al, Hainan Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways and Arkia, with passengers reporting long waits and uncertainty at the airport.

The disruption comes amid wider aviation challenges linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has led to airspace closures, rerouted flights and operational restrictions across the region.

Although some international carriers have begun gradually resuming flights following a fragile ceasefire, schedules remain unstable and subject to sudden changes.

In recent weeks, authorities have also imposed limits on airport operations, including caps on departures, further reducing capacity and contributing to delays.

Industry experts warn that continued geopolitical tensions could lead to further disruption, with airlines adjusting routes and cancelling services to maintain safety and manage rising costs.

For passengers, the situation underscores the ongoing uncertainty in global travel, particularly on routes connecting Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
