Knicks Ticket Prices Crash 70% Following Game 3 Loss to Spurs

The New York Knicks maintain a 2-1 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, but their recent defeat in Game 3 has caused the secondary ticket market to crash.
As the prospect of the Knicks securing their first championship in over half a century on home soil this Wednesday vanished, demand for Game 4 tickets sharply declined.
Plummeting entry prices
Earlier in the week, the cheapest available ticket to enter the New York arena had peaked at roughly $13,500. By Monday the entry price sat at $8,600, but following the Spurs’ crucial victory it plummeted to $4,025 by Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the dramatic 70% drop over three days, the ticket tracking platform TicketData confirmed that Game 4 remains more expensive than this year’s Super Bowl.
With a series sweep no longer possible, the earliest the Knicks can secure the championship is during Game 5 in Texas. However, demand for that potential title-deciding match has also waned.
Current entry prices for the remainder of the NBA Finals are as follows:
- Game 4 (New York): $4,025 (down 70%)
- Game 5 (San Antonio): $1,438 (down 40%)
- Game 6 (New York): $10,282 (down 8%)
- Game 7 (San Antonio): $5,181 (up 38%)
The only fixture to experience a surge in ticket value is a hypothetical Game 7. Prices for the ultimate decider have increased by 38%, largely driven by the expectation that thousands of New York supporters will travel to San Antonio if the series goes the distance.
Comparisons and betting odds
Even with the recent price corrections, the NBA Finals market remains historically expensive. For context, the last two Super Bowls had match-day entry prices of $2,002 in 2025 and $3,251 this year. TicketData notes that the average Super Bowl entry price since the end of the pandemic sits at $3,914.
Excluding the World Cup and the Stanley Cup Final, the next most expensive sporting event scheduled for the remainder of the year is UFC 329. The Las Vegas fight card on July 11 features the highly anticipated return of Conor McGregor against Max Holloway and currently commands a starting price of $1,369.
In the betting markets, the Knicks entered the championship series as significant underdogs. Following their initial victory in Game 1 they shifted to become the bookmakers’ favourites. Leading the series 2-1 with two remaining home games, New York remains the firm favourite at -185 on BetMGM compared to San Antonio at +155.
