American rapper Cardi B has gone viral after a video showing her cleaning her grandparents’ house in the Dominican Republic circulated on social media.
The Grammy-winning artist, who turned 34 on October 11, was filmed sweeping and washing floors at her paternal family’s home in Castañuelas, a municipality in the Dominican province of Montecristi.
The footage was recorded by her father and shows the rapper using a broom, water and soap to clean the house. The clip quickly attracted attention from fans surprised to see the millionaire musician doing ordinary household chores.
Social media users praised Cardi B for remaining connected to her family and Dominican heritage despite her international fame. Others joked that even global celebrities cannot escape cleaning duties when visiting their relatives.

The rapper’s visit coincided with her 34th birthday, which she spent surrounded by relatives in the Dominican Republic.
However, the family gathering also came during a difficult period. According to Dominican broadcaster Telemundo, Cardi B had recently lost her grandfather and attended his funeral during the visit.
Other videos circulating online showed the musician celebrating her birthday with family members, who gathered around a cake and sang to her.
Born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar in New York, Cardi B has Dominican roots through her father and Trinidadian ancestry through her mother. She has frequently spoken about her Caribbean heritage and maintained close ties with relatives in the Dominican Republic.
The latest video also recalls a similar viral moment from July 2025, when Cardi B’s grandmother reportedly made the rapper’s daughter Kulture help clean the floor during a family visit.
