Uzbekistan takes first-ever golds at Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship

Uzbekistan’s national motorsport team returned to Tashkent on October 27 after securing its best-ever result at the 2026 FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship, winning four gold and two silver medals.
The team finished second overall among 24 competing nations, behind host Thailand, at the competition held from October 23 to 25 at Bira Circuit in Pattaya. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Sports confirmed the result.
The 2026 championship featured six disciplines: karting sprint, endurance and slalom, all using small, open-wheel go-karts, alongside auto gymkhana and autocross, which involve full-sized cars. In esports, competitors raced virtually using simulators running Assetto Corsa and iRacing.

Alikhan Bakhranov won gold in the Cadet category, while Arseniy Glova claimed the Junior title. Samina Akhmadjonova secured two gold medals, winning both the Senior and Ladies categories.
Anvar Makhmudov took silver in the Junior category, while Kamoliddin Najmiddinov finished second in the Senior competition.
Uzbekistan improves on previous championship results
The latest result marks a considerable improvement for Uzbekistan, which has competed in three editions of the regional championship.
In 2023, the national team won its first silver medal at the event in Malaysia, finishing 11th overall. Two years later, Uzbekistan collected two bronze medals at the championship in Sri Lanka and placed 12th.
This year’s performance brought Uzbekistan its first gold medals at the Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship and its highest position in the overall standings.
Organised by the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand under the patronage of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the event attracted more than 250 competitors from 24 nations, according to Motorsport Australia.
Thailand claimed the overall Nations Cup title, with Uzbekistan finishing ahead of Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and the Philippines, which completed the top five.
