Blackpink’s Jisoo and Twice’s Nayeon are set to appear together on the South Korean variety show Whenever Possible, giving fans a rare glimpse of their friendship, which began long before either singer became famous.

South Korean broadcaster SBS released a preview on 4 November showing the two K-pop stars visiting Sanbon, a neighbourhood in Gunpo where Jisoo grew up.

The singers, both born in 1995, have known each other since their trainee days, before debuting with their respective groups.

Jisoo revisits her childhood neighbourhood

During the preview, the hosts refer to Jisoo as the «daughter of Sanbon» because of her connection to the area. However, she jokingly suggests that the title belongs to retired Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yuna, who also grew up there.

The hosts respond by naming Jisoo Sanbon’s second daughter.

Jisoo also points out places she remembers from childhood, including an area where she once attended taekwondo lessons.

While Jisoo revisits her hometown, Nayeon draws attention with her competitive approach to the programme’s games, enthusiastically encouraging the group to take on challenges.
