Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro may miss out on Ultra’s best feature

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro could be less powerful than the Galaxy S27 Ultra, despite both phones being positioned as premium models, according to new leaked specifications.
Trade records uncovered by Notebookcheck suggest that Samsung plans to use different processors across its four Galaxy S27 models, Android Authority reported on 4 November.
The biggest surprise concerns the new Galaxy S27 Pro, which reportedly uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
The more expensive Galaxy S27 Ultra, however, is listed with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a more powerful version of the same chip.
Both processors reportedly use 2-nanometre technology, but the Extreme version offers better performance when running demanding applications, games and AI features.
It could also support smoother 8K video recording at 60 frames per second, compared with 30 frames per second on the standard processor.
The difference means buyers choosing the smaller Pro model may not get the same performance as those purchasing the Ultra.
Samsung could be using the less powerful chip to reduce overheating, as the smaller phone has less room to release heat.
What else has leaked about the Galaxy S27 series?
The records, found in the NBD import-export database, also suggest that Samsung will continue using its own Exynos processors in some international models.
The standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus are listed with the Exynos 2700 chip, while the Pro and Ultra use Qualcomm processors.
These listings concern international dual-SIM versions typically sold in Europe. Samsung could choose different chips for other markets.
The leak also points to four screen sizes:
- Galaxy S27: 6.3 inches
- Galaxy S27 Plus: 6.7 inches
- Galaxy S27 Pro: 6.5 inches
- Galaxy S27 Ultra: 6.9 inches
All four models are listed with at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Pro and Ultra could offer higher memory options.
Earlier reports also suggested that both premium models may receive Samsung’s second-generation Privacy Display, while the Ultra could feature a larger battery.
Samsung is expected to introduce the new phones in early 2027.
