The car sales in Uzbekistan reached 95,400 units in October, representing a 6% decline from September and a sharp 43% drop compared to the same period last year, according to the Centre for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
Sales of locally produced cars saw the steepest decline, falling 20% from September to 30,200 units. CERR noted reduced activity in the used car market as well. In October, buyers purchased 60,400 used cars. This number held steady month-on-month but showed an almost twofold annual decrease.

Despite the overall market decline, sales of foreign-made and electric vehicles surged. Sales of imported cars jumped by 35% in October, totalling 4,700 units.
The electric vehicle market also continued its robust growth, expanding by 20%. For the first time, monthly sales of electric cars exceeded 5,100 units in October.

Interest in electric vehicles was strongest among residents of Tashkent, as well as the Namangan and Fergana regions.
