On January 31, the Uzbekistan government approved reduced customs duty rates. The new regulations will take effect in three months, as reported by the press service of the Customs Committee.

Starting in late April, the fee for processing goods on and off the customs territory will be halved.

The fee for customs clearance outside the Customs Committee’s regular working hours will be reduced significantly—from two basic calculation values (BRV) to 25% of the amount of BRV, which translates to a decrease from 750,000 soums to 93,700 soums.

The committee also noted that a 20% discount will be available for those who make a preliminary declaration.

The fee for customs transit, effective from the end of April, will be set at 25% of the BRV, amounting to 93,700 soums.

The department stated that customs registration fees for both «export» and «import» goods will now be uniform.

Furthermore, a new fee for international courier shipments will be introduced, amounting to 2% of the BRV or 7,500 soums per kilogram of cargo.

Kursiv Uzbekistan also reported that customs duty revenues increased by 8% last year.
