President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration in Uzbekistan. Among other provisions, the document outlines the official powers of the Head of the Presidential Administration (PA).

In her new role, Saida Mirziyoyeva will have the authority to hire and dismiss deputy presidential advisers, deputy heads of PA departments, and other key management personnel.

She will also be responsible for approving staff schedules, recruiting domestic and international experts for project-based work, and setting their compensation.

Presidential advisers and department heads will be required to submit a list of development projects to the Head of the Administration. The Communications Department will develop a new state communications strategy within the next month.

According to the presidential decree, Saida Mirziyoyeva must organise an assessment of the PA’s management staff within two weeks and begin selecting promising candidates for positions in the administration.

Mirziyoyeva was appointed Head of the Presidential Administration on June 23. She previously served as an advisor to the President.
