Lopez Suffers Facial Injury as Barcelona Exit Champions League

Fermin Lopez suffered a bloody facial injury after being kicked by Juan Musso during Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final defeat to Atletico Madrid.
The incident occurred in the second leg in Madrid when Musso caught the 22-year-old forward in the face with his studs, leaving him with a bloodied nose and lip. Despite the heavy contact, the goalkeeper was not shown a card.
Lopez was treated on the pitch by medics and briefly used his shirt to stem the bleeding before continuing to play.

Barcelona were attempting to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit, but ultimately fell short, exiting the competition despite a 2-1 win on the night.
Early goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres had put the visitors on track to level the tie, but a strike from Ademola Lookman restored Atletico’s aggregate advantage.
Barcelona’s hopes were further dented when Eric Garcia was sent off in the second half, reducing the team to 10 men.
Atletico Madrid now progress to the semi-finals, where they will face either Arsenal or Sporting Lisbon.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said the defeat was «very disappointing» but urged his team to focus on their domestic campaign going forward.
