BLACKPINK member Jisoo has been honoured with the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at the 2026 Cannes International Series Festival.

The South Korean superstar travelled to France to accept the prestigious accolade in person on Thursday during the event’s ninth edition.

Festival organisers praised her ability to seamlessly juggle her massive music career with her burgeoning acting endeavours. According to the official Canneseries website the artist is dedicated to broadening her on-screen portfolio by tackling a wide variety of roles and formats.

The festival further commended her global influence, commanding screen presence and continuous artistic evolution, noting that she remains a highly promising figure within both Korean and international entertainment.

This latest triumph follows the recent debut of her Netflix television show Boyfriend on Demand, which premiered to audiences in March. In the series Jisoo takes on the role of Mi-rae, an overworked webtoon producer who turns to a virtual dating subscription service in her quest for romance.

Running from April 23 to 28, Canneseries was originally founded in 2018 to celebrate and highlight top-tier television programming from across the globe.

The annual event divides its official selections into four distinct categories: Competition, Short Form Competition, Documentary Series Competition and Out of Competition. In addition to these main sections the festival also runs a curated, non-competitive programme known as Rendez-Vous.
