Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr have become involved in a tungsten mining project located in Kazakhstan. The development was first reported by the Financial Times, which cited its own unnamed sources.

According to the report, the brothers invested in a construction firm named Skyline Builders in August 2025. This entity subsequently acquired a 20% stake in Kaz Resources, a mining enterprise dedicated to the extraction of natural resources.

A spokesperson for Donald Trump Jr clarified his role to journalists, stating that his involvement is strictly limited to financial investment. The representative emphasised that the president’s eldest son is not engaged in the company’s management and plays no part in making decisions regarding its day-to-day operations.

Corporate merger and public offering

The mining project is poised for significant expansion through a major corporate consolidation. On April 30, an agreement was announced detailing the merger of three entities: Cove Kaz Capital, Kaz Resources and Skyline Builders.

Once the transaction is finalised, the newly amalgamated company plans to launch an initial public offering on the Nasdaq stock exchange, where it will trade under the name Kaz Resources. Notably, the official materials published to announce the merger did not directly mention the names of the U.S. president’s sons.

The Trump family business portfolio

The Trump family enterprise traditionally encompasses a diverse array of assets, ranging from hotels and residential complexes to golf resorts and lucrative brand licensing deals. A significant portion of these high-profile projects is managed through the Trump Organization, which heavily involves multiple members of the family.

Born in 1977, Donald Trump Jr is the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump. He holds senior executive positions within the Trump Organization, taking an active role in spearheading real estate, hospitality and brand licensing initiatives.

His younger brother, Eric Trump, was born on January 6, 1984. He formally joined the family business in 2006 and currently serves as the executive vice president of development and acquisitions.

Eric’s portfolio includes the extensive reconstruction of resort and golf properties as well as various international development ventures. He is also recognised as the founder of the Eric Trump Foundation.
