Central Asian States Plan Trade Park at Tri-Border Junction

Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan plan to build a new international trade and economic park at the junction of their shared borders, marking another step toward deeper regional cooperation in Central Asia.
The proposed Dostuk International Trade and Economic Park will be located in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region and cover around 100 hectares. The project includes logistics, production, tourism, commercial, and recreational zones aimed at boosting cross-border trade and investment.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov reviewed the project during a visit to the Dostuk («Friendship») stele at the border junction shared by the three countries. The monument was inaugurated after Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed a trilateral border agreement in Khujand in March 2025.
Officials say the future park could create more than 5,000 jobs while strengthening transport links, tourism, and economic cooperation across the Fergana Valley region. The initiative also aims to host cultural festivals and international events promoting the shared Silk Road heritage of Central Asia.
