Centrum Air Expands Fleet With 16th Aircraft Named After Alisher Navoi

Centrum Air has expanded its fleet with a 16th Airbus A320-214 named Alisher Navoi, the company’s press service confirmed to Kursiv Uzbekistan.

The airline emphasised that it is proudly continuing its tradition of naming its planes after prominent figures from Uzbek culture and history. Bearing the registration number UK32077, the new aircraft arrived in Tashkent on Thursday, May 14. It has the capacity to carry 186 passengers and is scheduled to operate flights to destinations across the Middle East and CIS countries.

«Expanding our fleet is the foundation for the airline’s growth. It means new destinations, scaling our route network and increasing the accessibility of air travel for our passengers,» stated Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, founder and CEO of Centrum Air.

The company noted that the Airbus A320 is widely regarded as one of the most reliable and popular medium-haul airliners in the world.

This latest addition joins three other specially named aircraft currently operating within the Centrum Air fleet: Amir Temur, Abdulla Qodiriy and Beruniy.
