The Samarkand summit will unite policymakers and industry executives as Uzbekistan strengthens its role as a regional hub for AI and digital transformation

The GSMA has announced new details for M360 Eurasia 2026, which will take place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on May 20–21, bringing together policymakers, telecom leaders and technology companies to discuss the region’s digital future.

The event will focus on artificial intelligence, sovereign digital infrastructure, satellite connectivity and cybersecurity as Eurasia positions itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing digital hubs. Organisers said the summit reflects Uzbekistan’s ambitions to become a regional center for IT, AI and digital innovation under its «Digital Uzbekistan 2030» strategy.

The conference follows last year’s M360 Eurasia forum in Tashkent and marks the second year of partnership between the GSMA, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital Technologies, Beeline Uzbekistan and VEON Group. Supporting partners include the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).

Among confirmed speakers are representatives from Google, Huawei, ZTE, Jazz, MTS and Opensignal, alongside government officials and telecom executives from across Eurasia.

The event will also host the semi-final of the ITU Green and Digital Innovation Hackathon, where teams from Central Asia will present technology solutions for sustainability challenges such as renewable energy, smart water management and environmental monitoring.

John Giusti, Chief Regulatory Officer at the GSMA, said M360 Eurasia aims to provide a «global platform» for the region’s growing digital ecosystem, while Uzbekistan’s Digital Technologies Minister Sherzod Shermatov described the summit as a strategic step toward deeper integration into the global digital economy.
