Uzbekistan plans full-cycle Volkswagen car production in Angren

A full production cycle for Volkswagen vehicles is planned to be launched in Angren. This became known during a presentation of proposals for the development of the automotive industry reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Volkswagen project will be implemented in stages. The first stage предусматривает large-scale assembly in Tashkent, after which the company plans to move to a full production cycle in the Angren Free Economic Zone.

By the end of 2026, a strategy for the development of the auto parts market is also expected to be prepared with the involvement of international consultants.

Today, Uzbekistan already manufactures vehicles in partnership with companies such as Chevrolet, BYD, KIA and Hyundai. In addition to Volkswagen, new projects with Foton and JAC are expected to launch in the near future.
