Khabib Nurmagomedov Calls Dana White’s Comeback Claim “an Absolute Lie”

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has strongly rejected claims by UFC president Dana White regarding money and negotiations surrounding a potential return to competition.
Speaking in a recent interview, Nurmagomedov described White’s comments as «an absolute lie,» insisting that financial considerations were never the reason behind his decision to remain retired from mixed martial arts.
The disagreement stems from White’s suggestion that a lucrative offer could have persuaded the undefeated Russian fighter to return to the UFC. Khabib, however, reiterated that he retired after fulfilling a promise to his mother following the death of his father and longtime coach, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.
Nurmagomedov retired in 2020 with a perfect professional record of 29-0 and remains widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Since leaving the sport, he has focused on coaching, business ventures and supporting the careers of younger fighters from his team.
Despite ongoing speculation about a comeback, Khabib has repeatedly stated that he has no plans to return to professional competition.
