Economic ties between the neighbouring countries continue to strengthen as bilateral trade and investment cooperation expand

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached $351 mln in the first four months of 2026, according to data reported by AKIpress.

The figure reflects continued growth in economic cooperation between the neighboring countries, which have expanded trade, investment, and cross-border business ties in recent years. Earlier reports indicated that bilateral trade increased by more than 30% year-on-year at the beginning of 2026.

The two countries have set an ambitious goal of increasing annual trade turnover to $2 bn through deeper industrial cooperation, improved transport links, and the implementation of joint investment projects.

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have strengthened economic relations following the resolution of border issues and the expansion of regional connectivity initiatives, helping boost trade and tourism flows across Central Asia.
