More than 50,000 tickets have been snapped up for the upcoming international friendly between Canada and Uzbekistan. The impressive sales figures were officially confirmed by the Uzbekistan Football Association ahead of the highly anticipated clash.

The match will take place at the Commonwealth Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 06:00 (GMT+5). When they step onto the pitch, the Uzbek national side will be wearing an all-white strip while their goalkeeper will be dressed in a green kit.

Canadian head coach Jesse Marsch has spoken highly of the visiting team, describing Uzbekistan as a formidable opponent. He also expressed his excitement about playing in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd.

Speaking about the dedication of his own squad, the Canadian manager noted: «They’re all so proud to be part of this moment. I’m just trying to do everything I can to prepare them to be at their best and I’m sure that they will.»

For the Canadian national team, this fixture serves as a vital piece of their preparation as they gear up to co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico.

Following the showdown with Uzbekistan, Canada will quickly turn their attention to a match against the Republic of Ireland on June 5. Meanwhile, the Uzbek squad will continue their international tour with another high-profile friendly against the Netherlands on June 8.
