Uzbekistan recognised the outstanding contributions of 167 prominent figures from the spheres of culture, art and literature with prestigious state honours. The special award ceremony was held at the International Congress Centre in the capital and was attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The high-level accolades were bestowed upon a wide array of creatives spanning multiple disciplines. The distinguished recipients included professionals working in literature, music, theatre, cinema, folk art, craftsmanship and museum curation.
Alongside these creative practitioners, the list of honourees featured dedicated educators, mentors and specialists from cultural heritage institutions who have spent years preserving and nurturing the spiritual wealth of the country.
During the event, the president highlighted the crucial role that the creative intelligentsia plays in both societal development and the upbringing of the younger generation.
«The voice of a nation that possesses rich literature, music close to the heart, meaningful theatre, strong and inspiring cinema and attractive art will always have weight in the world,» President Mirziyoyev remarked.
The ceremony also dedicated time to remember the extraordinary masters of culture and art who have passed away but whose creative legacies continue to resonate deeply with the public. To acknowledge their monumental impact on the development of national culture, state awards were posthumously granted to 24 remarkable individuals.
To bring the gathering to a close, the president personally presented the celebrated awardees with their respective orders, medals and badges of honorary titles.
