Korean-Canadian artist Mark Lee has made his highly anticipated return to the stage. The former NCT member delivered a special acoustic performance at the global commemoration of World Environment Day in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The prestigious event took place on June 5, 2026 and was organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It brought together environmental advocates, global leaders and prominent artists to address urgent climate action. The opening ceremony at the Heydar Aliyev Center was attended by notable figures including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen.

Closing out the official ceremony, Lee treated the global audience to a heartfelt rendition of «Ready or Not». The self-written track remains unreleased and served as a symbolic fresh start for the musician’s solo career.

A new chapter with Upper Room

This international appearance marks Lee’s first official public schedule since his high-profile departure from K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment in April 2026. It also arrives just days after the 27-year-old star officially announced the establishment of his own independent agency.

The new management company, named Upper Room, was officially registered under his real name Lee Mark. The agency’s name draws inspiration from the biblical passage of Mark 14:12–15. Through this new venture, the artist intends to take on a more active role as both a creator and co-CEO. Upper Room is set to serve as the primary platform for all of his future music, visual and performance projects.

The Baku event was livestreamed worldwide via UN Web TV and the official UNEP YouTube channel, allowing international fans to witness the singer’s return to the spotlight.
