Uzbekinvest Expands Global Partnerships with Switzerland’s Leading Insurance Institutions

As part of a working visit to Zurich, Switzerland, Uzbekinvest Insurance Company held a series of high-level meetings with leading Swiss insurance and reinsurance institutions and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV), Switzerland’s official export credit agency.
During the discussions, SERV Director Cristina Schulze-Bergmann highly praised the economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. She also highlighted the growing interest of leading Swiss companies in pursuing investment projects in Uzbekistan across key sectors, including energy, pharmaceuticals, engineering, electrical manufacturing, tourism and other industries.
The parties also noted that a strong delegation of Swiss businesses and industry representatives is expected to participate in the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum in June 2026.
The Memorandum signed between Uzbekinvest and SERV establishes several priority areas for cooperation, including:
- Regular exchange of information, market intelligence, and expertise in export credit and political risk insurance;
- Coordination in the insurance of joint export transactions and international investment projects involving companies from both countries;
- Joint participation in international forums and conferences dedicated to export finance and insurance;
- Strengthening institutional cooperation between the export credit agencies of Uzbekistan and Switzerland.

During the visit, the Uzbekinvest delegation also met with representatives of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. and Swiss Re Ltd., two of the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance companies.
Representatives of Zurich Insurance Group reaffirmed Uzbekinvest’s role as their exclusive servicing partner in Uzbekistan for global corporate clients operating in the country.
Meanwhile, senior executives of Swiss Re, the world’s second-largest reinsurer, noted Uzbekistan’s remarkable pace of investment growth and the increasing interest of their international clients in exploring business opportunities in the Uzbek market.
The meetings resulted in several important agreements and areas for future cooperation:
- Identification of opportunities to expand property, liability, and cargo insurance portfolios within international corporate insurance programmes;
- Preliminary agreement on diversifying insurance offerings through new product lines tailored to the needs of multinational clients;
- Alignment on enhancing policy administration and claims management standards in accordance with Zurich Insurance Group’s international requirements;
- Agreement on a future visit by Swiss Re representatives to Tashkent to further explore opportunities for expanding cooperation and defining specific areas of partnership.
The successful negotiations with Switzerland’s leading insurance institutions demonstrated a high level of mutual trust and confirmed both parties’ strategic commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation in export support, international business insurance and global reinsurance.
