British TikToker Faces Death Penalty in Dubai Murder Case

The high-profile case has drawn international attention as the defendant alleges years of abuse and seeks to prove she acted to protect herself

A British TikTok influencer has been charged with premeditated murder in Dubai and could face the death penalty if convicted, according to campaign group Detained in Dubai and UK officials.

Brooke George, 23, from Kent, is accused of fatally stabbing a 26-year-old British man during a visit to the United Arab Emirates. George maintains that she acted in self-defence after allegedly being subjected to repeated physical abuse by the man, whom she had met online.

The advocacy group assisting her claims George was arrested with visible injuries and has faced difficulties accessing legal representation and consular support. The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office confirmed it is in contact with local authorities and is providing assistance to the British national and her family.

The case has attracted international attention because of the severity of the potential sentence under UAE law and the allegations of domestic abuse and self-defence, which George’s legal supporters say should be fully investigated before any trial proceeds.
