JYP Entertainment announced Wednesday that Twice member Sana will make her acting debut alongside Japanese actor Takeru Satoh in the upcoming film «Nyangi.»
Directed by Kwon Hyuk-chan, the Korean-Japanese co-production centres on a feline that transforms into a human to connect with Satoh’s character. The project marks Sana’s first foray into acting 11 years after beginning her music career with the nine-piece K-pop group.
The casting follows Satoh’s recent cameo in a promotional video for «Play,» the debut studio album from Misamo. The Twice subunit features bandmates Mina, Momo and Sana.
Before transitioning to the big screen, the singer will conclude Twice’s record-breaking «This Is For» global tour. The group plays their final three concerts from Friday through Sunday, ending a massive 81-show run across 44 cities.
