The extended British royal family has grown following the birth of a baby girl to art professional Flora Vesterberg and her spouse Timothy, who works in finance.

The couple named the child Isabel Marina. According to the mother’s public statement, the first name represents a divine gift while the middle title serves as a direct tribute to her paternal great-grandmother, the late Princess of Greece and Denmark. The secondary designation also translates to «of the ocean». Vesterberg noted this meaning reflects the distinct tranquillity the new parents experience when visiting Swedish and Scottish coastal regions.
This birth represents a significant milestone for Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, 89-year-old Princess Alexandra, by granting her a first great-grandchild. The young infant immediately enters the official line of succession for the British throne at the 62nd position, placing her directly behind her 31-year-old parent.
The historical figure inspiring the child’s middle name assumed the Duchess of Kent title following a 1934 royal wedding to Prince George. After his tragic wartime death in 1942, the widow continued performing official public engagements for decades until passing away in 1968 at the age of 61.
A different family member carrying that specific moniker is Marina Windsor. She acted as a primary bridal attendant for the Vesterbergs during their 2021 St James’s Palace blessing. The couple originally married in a scaled-down private service the previous year to comply with pandemic health regulations. Their later celebration featured prominent guests including Lady Amelia Windsor, Lord Freddie Windsor and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
