Samsung Launches First Credit Card to Rival Apple

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Card, a new co-branded Visa credit card designed to reward devoted users with cashback on their purchases, arriving just in time for the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event.
Crafted in metal and issued by Barclays, the card debuted on 22 July, offering up to 5% cashback on eligible purchases made straight from Samsung, from Galaxy smartphones to tablets and more.
Cardholders can also earn 3% cashback on purchases made using Samsung Wallet, 2% on streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ and Spotify, and 1% on all other transactions.
Samsung says the card is fully integrated with Samsung Wallet, allowing users to manage it alongside payment cards, digital IDs, passes and keys. Transactions are protected by Samsung Knox, the company’s built-in security platform.
Samsung’s prime rival, Apple, officially launched the Apple Card in the U.S. back in 2019.
Designed primarily for iPhone users, it offers 3% cash back on purchases made directly with Apple and select merchants such as Uber, Walgreens or Nike, 2% back on all purchases using Apple Pay and 1% back on physical card purchases.
