On July 2, 2026, international credit rating agency Moody’s Ratings upgraded Uzbekinvest’s Insurance Financial Strength Rating (IFSR) to «Ba1» with a «Stable» outlook.

According to Moody’s, Uzbekinvest is the only financial institution in Uzbekistan to hold an insurance financial strength rating at the «Ba1» level. The agency attributed the upgrade to the company’s strong position in the domestic insurance market, solid capitalisation, high-quality assets and a well-diversified investment portfolio. Moody’s also highlighted the significant contribution of the company’s international reinsurance business to its premium income.

The upgraded rating reflects Uzbekinvest’s strong financial profile, supported by consistent underwriting performance and sustainable business growth.

Key performance indicators include:

  • Global presence. Uzbekinvest’s reinsurance operations now span 135 countries. International business accounts for 50% of the company’s insurance revenues equivalent to $32.5 mln.
  • Export support. The company has provided insurance coverage for $2.3 bn worth of national exports, representing 41% of Uzbekistan’s total non-commodity exports.
  • Business growth. Gross written premiums increased by 132% year-on-year. Over the past nine years, total insurance premiums have risen from 41 bn soums to 935 bn soums — an increase of more than 22 times.
  • Corporate portfolio. Premiums collected in the corporate segment reached 398 bn soums, including 42 bn soums generated from insurance of investment projects.
  • Market position. Uzbekinvest remains the market leader in compulsory insurance with a 20% market share. Retail insurance premiums have grown 29-fold over the past nine years, from 4.9 bn soums to 140 bn soums, while the company’s client base has expanded from 70,000 in 2017 to 1.1 mln soums in 2026.

The rating upgrade underscores Uzbekinvest’s continued financial resilience and the successful expansion of its international operations. The company remains a reliable partner for both domestic and international clients while reinforcing its role as one of the key players in Uzbekistan’s insurance market.
