EA Sports FC 27 Unveiled Following its Fifth Correct World Cup Prediction

Electronic Arts has released the debut trailer for EA Sports FC 27 and detailed new gameplay features just days after the franchise successfully predicted the 2026 FIFA World Cup winner. The latest instalment in the football simulation series launches on Sept. 25 across PC and both current and previous generation consoles.
The announcement follows the dramatic World Cup final on July 19 where Spain defeated Argentina 1-0. Weeks before the match, developers ran a tournament simulation within EA Sports FC 26 that correctly anticipated the exact outcome. This marks the fifth consecutive time the video game has accurately forecast the global tournament’s victor.
Developers congratulated the Spanish national team on social media, writing, «We predicted. You played. Spain made it a reality. Five predictions in a row, and the team lifted the trophy over 11 mln times in EA Sports FC 26 and FC Mobile. Congratulations on the second star!»
What’s new in EA Sports FC 27
Building on this momentum, FC 27 promises refreshed gameplay designed to enhance realism. The major addition is «The Grounds,» a dedicated street football mode supporting one-on-one and team matches. However, this feature will be exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, bypassing the older PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.
The classic Ultimate Team mode returns alongside an overhauled transfer market featuring updated player values, revised bidding mechanics and a fresh roster. Pre-orders are currently live across three tiers. The standard edition costs $70 while the Ultimate Edition is priced at $100. A new $150 Ultimate Plus Edition grants players a premium pass for the first five seasons and seven days of early access before the official September release.
