The initial look at the Asus hardware surfaced through a product listing on the iF Design website before platform administrators removed the page. While the design portal incorrectly classified the product as a traditional Chromebook, internal software specifications indicate an entirely different platform architecture. Industry watchers have tracked these developments closely as multiple manufacturers prepare competing entries for the ecosystem.
Software architecture and hardware design
Documentation on the design platform explicitly lists «Aluminium OS» as the operating system powering the device. This software identifier immediately rules out traditional ChromeOS compatibility. Industry reports suggest that Google’s upcoming Gemini-powered laptop operating system may use this designation, though official branding has not been confirmed.

Referred to as a Glowbar, this integrated light bar is expected to function similarly to the notification indicator found on upcoming mobile hardware like the Pixel 11.
