Donald Trump hold a phone conversation with Uzbek president
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and US President Donald Trump discussed strengthening bilateral strategic partnerships during a telephone call on Friday.
Opening the conversation, Mirziyoyev congratulated Trump on the 250th anniversary of US independence. Trump subsequently highlighted the unprecedented level of US-Uzbek relations and the close dialogue established between the two administrations.
The heads of state reviewed the implementation of previous high-level agreements and praised the intense dynamics of bilateral exchanges. Both nations are currently executing a three-year economic cooperation programme. Economic ties have expanded following the inaugural meeting of the US-Uzbek Business and Investment Council and increased engagement between Uzbek regions and American states. A newly introduced visa-free regime for US citizens has also stimulated corporate contacts.
Washington and Tashkent are actively pursuing joint projects across multiple sectors. These encompass civil aviation, automotive manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
Addressing the international agenda, the presidents emphasised the necessity of ongoing efforts to ensure global security and peacefully resolve ongoing conflicts. They also reviewed the schedule for upcoming bilateral and multilateral engagements.
Concluding the call, Mirziyoyev extended an invitation for Trump to make an official visit to Uzbekistan at his earliest convenience.
