Marking his 27th year, Changbin has directed a major financial gift towards youth healthcare. The Stray Kids rapper provided 100 mln won (roughly $73,500) to the Samsung Medical Centre on Tuesday.
Hospital officials plan to divide the cash equally. 50mn won is earmarked directly for paediatric medical bills, helping to alleviate the heavy economic burden on households dealing with severe illnesses. The remaining 50mn won is dedicated to psychological assistance initiatives for the relatives of those undergoing treatment, ensuring holistic care for the entire family unit during incredibly difficult periods.
«Thanks to the tremendous love sent by fans, I was able to practice meaningful sharing on my birthday,» Changbin said in a statement. «I sincerely hope that my heart reaches places in need and becomes a small hope and warm comfort.»
Ongoing charitable efforts and career milestones
Giving back has become a regular tradition for the musician. Following the tragic earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria in 2023, he provided crucial emergency relief capital. This act earned him a spot in The Promise’s exclusive Honours Club, highlighting a deep commitment to global humanitarian causes.
He previously backed the Samsung Medical Centre during his 2025 birthday celebrations, channelling money towards surgeries and therapeutic care for disadvantaged youths. Furthermore, Changbin and his fellow group members actively financed rebuilding projects via the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association following intense regional wildfires across South Korea. They also sent support through World Vision to assist with fire recovery in Hong Kong.
On the music front, the eight-piece boy band launched a fresh EP titled «THIS & THAT» on August 7. They are currently gearing up for their upcoming «RUN IT» global tour, which includes two massive gigs at the Tokyo National Stadium scheduled for August 29 and 30. Securing this specific Japanese arena represents a historic milestone, as no international male act has previously headlined a standalone show there.
