Rick and Morty fans may not have another long wait for new episodes. Season 10 is on track to arrive around the same time of year as Season 9, pointing to a 2027 return and another uninterrupted weekly run.
The schedule is expected to stay consistent, showrunner Scott Marder told Deadline Hollywood on Tuesday. «Yes, Season 10 is going to come out at the same time; it’s going to run all the way through,» he confirmed.
Co-creator Dan Harmon then supplied a more Rick and Morty-appropriate production update: «It’s been generated by Palantir as we speak,» he quipped.
The comments suggest Adult Swim has finally settled into something the series was once famous for avoiding: a predictable release calendar.
Season 9 premiered on 24 May 2026 and finished on 26 July, while Season 8 also ran from May to July the year before. Marder’s reference to Season 10 arriving at «the same time» therefore points towards May 2027, although Adult Swim has not announced an exact premiere date.
Deadline described the target more broadly as summer 2027, so May 2027 is the expected window, not a confirmed day of release.
Rick and Morty is not stopping at Season 10
The production pipeline is also much further ahead than it used to be. Harmon and Marder formerly worked on Seasons 8, 9 and 10 in overlapping stages, while Marder has said the aim is now to release new seasons annually.
Season 10 will not be the end of Rick and Morty. Adult Swim has already renewed the animated comedy through Season 12, and its producers have spoken openly about wanting the show to continue beyond that if audiences remain interested.
The coming season will also take the series to its 100th episode, with the creative team teasing surprises while keeping plot details largely under wraps. Marder has said that viewers who enjoyed Season 9 can expect Season 10 to maintain the same level of quality.
