Nicolas Cage is heading back into the wasteland, this time with attack dogs and cannibals for company. The Oscar-winning actor will lead Parish, a post-apocalyptic action thriller set three decades after a nuclear catastrophe.
In the film, Cage plays Parish, a rough-and-tumble survivor who has spent the last 30 years guarding a remote compound with a pack of highly trained dogs and one rule: nobody gets through the gate. Things take a turn when a woman with a baby appears outside and he decides to let her in.
This act of mercy reveals his refuge, and a group of cannibals from the wasteland around him arrive, and a siege ensues, forcing Parish to defend the home he has spent decades building.
Adam Sigal, who has worked on Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose will be writing and directing. Production is due to begin in Minnesota in October, with Concourse Media looking to pre-sell the international rights. There’s no release date announced.

Cage is on another prolific run when Parish is in the house. He made his first leading television appearance earlier this year in Spider-Noir, playing 1930s private investigator and masked vigilante Ben Reilly. The series premiered on MGM+ on May 25 before going global on Prime Video on 27 May and can be watched in black and white or colour.
Cage is keeping busy
Since then the show has earned 11 Emmy nominations, including for cinematography, visual effects, music, sound and stunts. Cage himself was not nominated for a Primetime Emmy.
Next up for him is a big one: «Madden,» David O. Russell’s film about legendary American football coach and announcer John Madden. Cage stars opposite Christian Bale, and the film will be out on Prime Video on November 18 after an awards-qualifying theatrical release.
Cage has also finished Lords of War, a sequel to his 2005 arms-dealer drama Lord of War. He is reprising his role of Yuri Orlov opposite Bill Skarsgård for a theatrical release in 2027.
