Apple readies A19 Pro-powered MacBook Neo 2 for 2027
Following the commercial success of Apple‘s MacBook Neo released in March, industry reports point towards a second-generation model slated for 2027. The upcoming MacBook Neo 2 aims to address the hardware limitations of its predecessor while retaining an affordable price point.
The upcoming machine will transition from the current A18 Pro silicon to an A19 Pro processor. Industry analysts indicate Apple plans to use a binned variant featuring a five-core GPU equipped with dedicated neural accelerators rather than the six-core configuration found in flagship mobile devices.
This processing jump delivers single-core and multi-core CPU gains of 10% to 15%, alongside graphics performance improvements reaching up to 40% over the previous generation.
Memory upgrades and AI integration
To address user feedback regarding hardware constraints, the MacBook Neo 2 increases onboard memory from 8GB to 12GB of RAM. This 50% capacity expansion bridges a vital gap for users running intensive multitasking routines.
The hardware boost unlocks full compatibility with advanced on-device artificial intelligence packages introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Current base models miss out on these local execution frameworks, but the upgraded memory configuration enables high-precision dictation tools and custom voice profiles for virtual assistants.
Beyond internal components, reports indicate the hardware family will receive periodic aesthetic refreshes with fresh shell colourways, building upon existing options like citrus, blush, indigo and silver. Public availability for the upgraded portable system is projected for sometime next year.
