A recently surfaced image from a developer portal indicates these early trials are happening simultaneously across several key global territories.
The component driving these prototypes carries the SM8975 identifier. Industry observers anticipate this silicon will ultimately launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Within the leaked interface, three distinct project files point to specific variants of the forthcoming handset. These files include testing tags for Korea, the broader Asia-Pacific region and the American network provider Verizon.
Qualcomm naming
Each identified configuration runs on a software package labelled «Snapdragon_Premium_High_2026», an internal naming convention reserved for top-tier Qualcomm equipment. Initiating multiple carrier-specific builds at this juncture reveals significant momentum in the design cycle.
It demonstrates that engineers have advanced past basic hardware integration and are now undertaking complex radio frequency testing alongside regional network optimisation.
Tech enthusiasts expect formal details regarding the new silicon during a dedicated technology summit in Hawaii scheduled for late September. The introduction of these advanced processors traditionally precedes the retail availability of new Galaxy S devices which normally arrive on shop shelves during the first quarter of the year.
