Tech enthusiasts have received an early glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra colour palette months before the flagship smartphone officially debuts. According to reputable industry leaker Ice Universe, the tech manufacturer plans to release the premium device in five primary finishes: black, blue, light pink, white and violet.

These core options will reportedly form the base retail lineup available through third-party vendors and mobile network operators worldwide. By establishing light pink as a standard option rather than a restricted variant, Samsung appears to be shifting its usual distribution strategy for bolder shades.

The five main finishes will hit retail shelves, but the manufacturer will continue to offer more options. The South Korean company usually saves some colours for its online store. When the device launches, these special variants may be available to buyers who want a unique look.

Expanded lineup and display production

Samsung is overhauling its broader smartphone strategy by expanding the Galaxy S27 family to four distinct models. The forthcoming generation will introduce a new Pro variant to sit alongside the established standard, Plus and Ultra devices. Supply chain sources indicate the basic model will feature a 6.27-inch screen while the Pro and Plus will measure 6.47 inches and 6.66 inches, respectively. The premium Ultra edition will boast a 6.89-inch display.

Samsung Display has commenced mass production of components for the series. The division aims to manufacture up to 48 mn OLED panels over the product lifespan, representing a 10% volume increase compared with the previous generation. The company expects to ship 3 million screens specifically for the new Pro model before the end of the year.

Self-healing glass and unreleased processors

The S27 Ultra might introduce a groundbreaking display protection technology. Leaks suggest Samsung and Corning are developing a self-healing version of Gorilla Armor designed to gradually recover from everyday micro-scratches.

Internal documents reveal the South Korean tech giant is currently evaluating the S27 lineup using an unreleased Qualcomm processor identified as the SM8975. Industry observers anticipate this silicon will launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
