Yandex Uzbekistan warns of more errors as services gradually recover

Yandex Uzbekistan has restored access to most of its services following a major outage on October 11, although some users may continue experiencing technical problems.
The company told Kursiv Uzbekistan on October 12 that its teams were working to resolve the remaining issues, with payment processing, payouts to partners and customer support among its main priorities.
«Many services are already available, but errors may still occur in certain services and functions,» the company said in a statement.
Yandex Uzbekistan apologised to customers and partners affected by the disruption but did not provide a timeline for full restoration.
What caused the Yandex outage?
The disruption began on October 11, affecting Yandex Go users in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other countries.
Passengers reported difficulties booking taxis, checking fares and planning routes. Drivers and couriers also experienced problems accessing Yandex Pro, the application they use to manage orders and trips.
Yandex attributed the disruption to damage to its data centre infrastructure in Russia.
According to Reuters, a drone attack forced the shutdown of a Yandex data centre in Russia’s Vladimir region on October 11. The incident followed similar attacks on company facilities in the Ryazan and Kaluga regions earlier in the week.
The technical problems spread beyond Russia because Yandex operates interconnected computing infrastructure across multiple countries.
Yandex Uzbekistan head Izzat Shukurov described the disruption as serious and said employees were working around the clock to restore services.
He acknowledged that the outage had disrupted customers’ journeys, orders and daily plans, as well as the work of drivers and delivery partners.
Although most services have resumed operations, the company has warned that some functions may remain unstable until the remaining technical issues are resolved.
