K-pop group BTS has become the first group in Spotify history to surpass 10bn streams within a single calendar year, according to its record label Big Hit Music.
The milestone, announced on Friday, October 16, comes less than seven months after the release of the group’s fifth studio album, Arirang, which has accumulated 5bn streams since its March debut.
The album accounts for half of BTS’s total Spotify streams this year and is the most-streamed album released in 2026.
All 14 tracks from Arirang occupied the top 14 positions on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart on the day of release. The achievement included the instrumental track No. 29, highlighting the scale of demand for the group’s comeback.
The streaming record comes as BTS continues its Arirang world tour, which has brought all seven members back to international stages.
BTS to bring South American concerts to cinemas
The group is currently performing in Santiago, Chile, where it is scheduled to complete a three-show run on October 17.
BTS will then travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina and São Paulo, Brazil for three concerts in each city before returning to Asia.
Fans unable to attend the performances will have another opportunity to watch the group, with selected concerts set for live screenings in cinemas worldwide.
The Buenos Aires concert will be broadcast on October 24, followed by the São Paulo performance on October 30.
The screenings are part of the group’s ongoing world tour, which follows its return to full-group activities after the members completed their mandatory military service.
The 10bn-stream milestone also marks another commercial achievement for Arirang, which has driven BTS’s streaming figures throughout 2026.
