Samsung reportedly developing Galaxy OS with deeper AI integration

Samsung is reportedly developing a new Android-based operating system called Galaxy OS, featuring deeper artificial intelligence integration and a possible launch alongside the Galaxy S28 series in 2028.
According to tipster Phonefuturist, the company is working on the software alongside its existing One UI interface rather than preparing to replace it, as some earlier reports suggested.
The proposed launch would coincide with the tenth anniversary of One UI, which Samsung introduced in 2018 as a replacement for Samsung Experience.
What could change with Galaxy OS?
The most significant reported change concerns how artificial intelligence operates across Samsung devices.
Rather than concentrating AI tools in individual applications, Galaxy OS could integrate them more deeply into the system itself, potentially changing how users interact with their smartphones.
Samsung is reportedly working with Google on the project, although the companies have not disclosed any details or confirmed the collaboration.
The software could also introduce paid third-party AI services. However, it remains unclear which features would require subscriptions or whether Samsung’s existing Galaxy AI tools would remain free.
Despite speculation about a possible rebranding, Phonefuturist clarified that Galaxy OS would not replace One UI. The two platforms are reportedly being developed in parallel, although their intended differences and supported devices remain unknown.
Separately, another tipster, Ice Universe, has claimed that Samsung is preparing major interface changes that could first appear on the Galaxy Z Fold 9. The relationship between those changes and Galaxy OS has not been established.
