EJAE, the singer-songwriter behind the hit song Golden from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, has married her longtime partner, music producer Sam Kim, in an intimate ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.

The couple tied the knot on October 17 at Stage 28, a venue built on the grounds of EJAE’s grandparents’ former home.

EJAE, whose real name is Kim Eun-jae, chose the location because of its connection to her childhood. Her maternal grandfather is veteran Korean actor Shin Young-kyun.

«My grandparents lived in the house at the venue when I was a little girl,» she told Vogue, recalling time spent exploring the garden and walking with her grandfather.

The couple had originally planned to marry in California in November but moved the ceremony to South Korea and brought it forward by approximately a month.

EJAE wore a custom Danielle Frankel gown featuring a strapless neckline and tulle skirt, complemented by jewellery passed down through her family.

The celebrations also incorporated Korean wedding traditions, including a paebaek ceremony, while the couple hosted a welcome gathering at Korean fusion restaurant Congdu50.

Fellow KPop Demon Hunters singers Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who perform alongside EJAE as the fictional girl group HUNTR/X, attended the wedding.

Kim also performed a song he had composed especially for his bride, according to Korean entertainment reports.

The couple first met during a songwriting session in 2017, later developing both a professional collaboration and a romantic relationship.

They kept their engagement largely private before EJAE shared photographs referencing the milestone on Instagram in January 2026.

Kim has also contributed to EJAE’s music, including What It Sounds Like from KPop Demon Hunters. EJAE previously revealed that part of the song’s vocal arrangement was recorded in their Brooklyn apartment and included Kim’s voice.

Before her international breakthrough, EJAE trained under SM Entertainment and worked as a songwriter on tracks including Red Velvet’s Psycho and aespa’s Drama.

Her career reached a new milestone when Golden won Best Original Song at the 2026 Academy Awards.

Speaking to People after the win, EJAE credited Kim with helping her navigate her sudden rise to fame.

«I’m so grateful to him because this is not easy and he made me feel grounded,» she said.
